It looked like a hen but had a gorgeous cockscomb. It began laying eggs when it was ten months old but two months later it crowed.
Its astonished owners thought that it was a jinx so they let free in a mountain. The strange bird survived for a year and it was recently spotted and taken in by an employee of a folk cultural park in Xinlou Village, Chenghai District of Shantou, Guangdong Province.
A veterinarian believes the unusual physical attributes are due to excessive male hormones in the hen.
