A middle-aged woman threatened to jump to her death from a fifth floor window if a young man
refused to sign a marriage contract with her daughter. The woman in her 40's perched on the windowsill of a dormitory on Saturday at a college in
Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province, saying her daughter had been jilted by the teacher. The mother also forced the man to sign a bill of debt of 50,000 Yuan (US$6.200) as a betrothal gift.
She removed herself from danger once the young man finally gave in.

COUPLE SPEND WEDDING NIGHT IN HANDCUFFS
A newly-ed couple passed their first romantic day
of marital bliss in the slammer with no chance of settling down for the night. The couple held their wedding ceremony at a hotel in Shenyang, Liaoning Province on October 6.
Twenty-one tables of guests stuffed themselves with delicious food. But when a member of the hotel staff asked a relative of the bride to pay for a damaged tablecloth
the idyllic scene descended into violence. Both side sustained injuries and the ceremony was destroyed by the fighting before police arrived to cart off the worst offenders.

capital of Southwest China's Sichuan Province. Both the bride and groom are male – Li Jinsheng, 43 and Gao Jie, 22. Although Li's parents were reluctant to recognize their son's
homosexuality at first, they finally agreed to accept his choice and gave their good wishes to the couple. But the pair are not legally married as gay marriage is yet to be legalized in China.

A mother has won her son back from the clutches of
the Internet by chatting with him online for three days and nights. The woman from Xinyang, Henan Province, discovered the 16-year old son had left boarding school for several
days in September. The 42-year old mother knew from one of her son's classmates that he had fallen in love with a girl on the Internet and was somewhere in cyberspace.
After tracking down her son's online name the anxious mother started to chat with him, pretending to be a 20-year old girl. They exchanged messages about the boy's childhood
and he soon realized he should contact his parents. Finally his mother revealed her true identity and her son returned home.
