As with anything good, the best jobs always go quickly; however, many teachers try and hang out until the last minute expecting higher salary. It is true some salaries go up close to the semester, but that
's because they are schools that no one wants to teach at, and they are
desperate for teachers (I know some that tell blatant lies). Remember you are coming to China for maybe one year and it is far better to have very good, comfortable, private accommodation,
pleasant working conditions without fights with other staff and the administration than a few hundred extra
RMB per month. An extra 1,000 RMB ($121.00) per month is $28.80 per week and you will have to work an
extra 5 hours per week or 21 hours per month, but all get is $5.75 per hour, usually low standard apartment, maybe shared, and you will have to fight for your airfare. My personal tip is
, pick your job, sign up and relax with parties and other bon voyage things instead of squabbling over a few cents and maybe one year of unhappiness.
